Barbara Elaine Taylor- I. Gigantecaerulia native species - M- 4-6’ tall; Pristine white self; golden yellow signals with golden yellow veins surrounding the signal. Native to swamps and marshes in Louisiana, but performs well in perennial gardens also. .Zones 6b-10a only
One of the native species, Giganticaerulia were some of the first iris found growing along the bayous and swamps of Louisiana. They have been growing in popularity as gardeners learn they are endangered in the wild, and a move is on to preserve these natives for future generations. Whites in this species are more rare than the blues. These iris will grow in most zones, but bloom best in zones 6b-10a.
